Interaction: Discussion and Debate (updated 1/24/06)

Welcome! God didn't make believers to live their lives in solitude (either from other believers or from the rest of the world.... so I choose to interact. This section of the site carries links to some of those interactions, live, uncut and (for the most part) unedited. Enjoy and be blessed by them.

Speaking Ministry .........................................................................................

The audio for the Apology to the World conference that took place June 4th in PA is now available online as streaming MP3. Enjoy, spread the resources around, be blessed and edified.

An Apology to the World: Session 1 - An Apology
Session 1- June 4, 2005, 9am at Calvary Orthodx Presbyterian in Middleton,PA. What is an apology? By first examining the word in its historical context and then its usage is specific biblical passages, Mr. Gilliard will set the agenda for what a Christian apology to the world is. It is important to know that every Christian is called to give an apology. God has given his people the privilege of "given a reason for the hope that is within." Mr. Gilliard will discuss why it is important to be well equipped in biblical theology and the importance of loving God with all of your mind. This session will end with encouragement and examples on how to offer an apology to the world.

Christian Discussion Boards and Formal Debates........................................................

Theologically Correct dot Com Discussion Board

Our Christian Discussion Board. Be sure to read the doctrinal agreement BEFORE you click 'yes'. If you don't agree, don't sign up. This board is established as a place of rest for believers. If you're looking for a good Christian discussion board for everyone, I highly recommend Jason and Julie Staples' Reaching the World For Christ Ministries Message Board at http://reachingforchrist.org/forums .

ePologetics and Interaction on non-Christian boards, Chat Rooms and Other Places..................

I frequently can be found in all manner of debates on religion and politics over at the HBCU band website, the5thquarter.com in the 5Q Lounge (posting as TheBionicSIGMA). Being a musician and a band director, this is a logical place for me to be, eh ? Here's a few files of finished discussions I've had with folks over at the 5Q. You also get to see what it's like to deal with arguments of unbelievers in real time.

To Be Or Not To Be Part I - Question on Gay Marriage. I chimed into this convo a little late, but once there...well, read it. Take a real close look at the argumentation used in favor of gay marriage and see how faulty it is.

Abortion - Right Or Wrong ? Part I. I popped in on this one early. I plan on re-starting a part II on this in a few weeks to address many of the unanswered questions and comments left sitting on the board. But in the meantime... take a look at the worldview of some of the folks espousing a pro-abortion viewpoint.

I'm a channel operator in the IRC Chat room #prosapologian on the Starlink-IRC network (I run under the nick OS_X there). The channel is owned by Dr. James White, Director of Alpha and Omega Ministries in Arizona and an elder at the Phoenix Reformed Baptist Church. He's also an author of several good books.

Convo with a Catholic - here's a convo I had in #prosapologian with one of the channel's regular folks, Romanist. He's a Roman Catholic who, apparently, had been recently questioning aspects of the teachings of Rome. So we got into a good discussion on the nature of faith, works and justification. Enjoy. (warning - file is over 1MB, since I haven't had time to edit out the extra convos).
